Job Brief:
Profile: Senior Database Administrator
Eligibility: Minimum 6 years of experience in database management
Location: Gurugram
We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator with expertise in Time-series Databases, including but not limited to Timescale and PostgreSQL. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 years of experience in database administration, with a strong focus on configuring parameters at both the database and operating system levels. The role will involve optimizing database performance, ensuring high availability, and implementing best practices for data management and security.
Job responsibilities:
• Design, deploy, and maintain Time-series Databases, including Timescale, PostgreSQL, InfluxDB, and others
• Configure database parameters to optimize performance, scalability, and reliability
• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise
• Implement and maintain database security measures to protect sensitive data
• Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and provide technical expertise
• Stay up to date with the latest database technologies and best practices
• Mentored junior team members and guided database administration tasks
Standard DBA skillset:
• Proficiency in SQL and database query optimization
• Experience with database replication, clustering, and high-availability solutions
• Knowledge of database backup and recovery procedures
• Familiarity with database schema design and data modeling concepts
• Strong understanding of database security principles and best practices
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
Preferred skills:
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible etc for database provisioning and configuration management
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Knowledge of other Time-series Databases such as Cassandra / Druid
